Helpful hints for Special Occasions
Book a trial formal hairstyle or make-up appointment at least one week in advance. We will try several different styles and colors so you can pick the ones you like the best. This will save you a lot of time on your prom day. Be sure to bring a camera on prom day so we can take a few pictures for your photo album.
Bring your friends! It's much more fun when you and all your friends have our pampering services done at the same time!
Wear a lose fitting or button up shirt. This will make it easier to change into your gown later.
Don't shampoo your hair on the day of your prom - do it the night before. Clean, damp hair will not style as easily and may not stay in place throughout prom night.
If your hair is naturally curly and you don't plan to use the natural curl in your style, blow your hair straight the night before. If you have problems straightening your hair, we recommend booking an appointment the day before your prom and we'll handle that for you.
Bring any hair accessories that you may want to use in the hairstyle. We will also have some accessories available that you can choose from.
Please let us know ahead of time if your hair is more than shoulder length or is thicker than normal. Prices will vary according to how much time is needed. back to the top
Make-up:
Don't apply any make-up at home on the day of prom.
Bring your own lipstick with you so you will have it all night.
Let the make-up artist know of any skin problems or reactions.
Don't get a facial wax service on prom day! Do it a day or two before. Your make-up will not properly adhere if you have just had a facial wax service performed.
Massage and Facials:
If you would like to plan a massage or facial appointment, make it for at least two weeks before your prom appointment. These services may be too relaxing and cause you to be too tired to enjoy the prom. We also recommend that you take it easy after a massage and do not do any exercising or heavy lifting, etc. After you receive a facial, sometimes within a two week period, acne will come to the surface. Make sure to keep this in mind around prom time.
